Common NameADP-ribose
ClassSmall Molecule
DescriptionAdp-ribose is a member of the class of compounds known as purine ribonucleoside diphosphates. Purine ribonucleoside diphosphates are purine ribobucleotides with diphosphate group linked to the ribose moiety. Adp-ribose is slightly soluble (in water) and an extremely strong acidic compound (based on its pKa). Adp-ribose can be found in a number of food items such as common bean, horned melon, sapodilla, and red raspberry, which makes adp-ribose a potential biomarker for the consumption of these food products.
