Common NameN,N-Dimethylbenzylamine
ClassSmall Molecule
DescriptionN,n-dimethylbenzylamine, also known as N-benzyl-n,n-dimethylamine nitrate or benzyl-dimethyl-amine, is a member of the class of compounds known as phenylmethylamines. Phenylmethylamines are compounds containing a phenylmethtylamine moiety, which consists of a phenyl group substituted by an methanamine. N,n-dimethylbenzylamine is slightly soluble (in water) and a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa).
